Minutes 7-30-08
The Fairfield Hills Authority held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in the meeting room at Town Hall South, Main Street, Newtown, CT.  Bob Geckle called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

Present: Bob Geckle, Andy Willie, Amy Dent, Walt Motyka and John Reed.

Absent:  Mike Holmes, Moira Rodgers, Don Studley and Julia Wasserman.

Also Present:  Elizabeth Stocker, Lynn Ulman and Tracey Farin, (Jantris Marketing Services).

Public Participation:  No Public Opinion.

Discussion on Website Design:   Lynn Ulman and Tracey Farin from Jantris Marketing Services presented three different website designs for the Authority to choose from.

The Authority decided on the second choice that was presented.

The Authority also chose to use the wording “Fairfield Hills Campus” on the Home Page of the website.

Andy Willie asked that Jantris create several different print and font choices for the text of the website for the Authority to agree upon.

Jantris will create the website mock-up with different font and print styles and will present it to the Authority at the next regular meeting to be held on August 19, 2008.

Walt Motyka suggested that the home page focus more on what the goal of the website is, suggesting that Development be a prominent feature.  Elizabeth Stocker suggested that the user could click on the Developer’s Package and that would bring them to that link.

Bob Geckle also requested that the four uses for the campus be represented on the home page.  The four uses are Municipal Buildings/Recreation/Cultural-Arts/Commercial Development.

The second item that was discussed was the domain name for the website.  Originally the Authority was going to use FairfieldHills.org with a second domain name of FairfieldHills.gov.  The Authority discussed the matter and decided that the additional cost to secure FairfieldHills.gov was not necessary and that FairfieldHills.org would be the only name to be used.

Motion:  Walt Motyka moved that the Fairfield Hills Authority not spend additional funds to secure the domain name FairfieldHills.gov and that FairfieldHills.org will be the only domain name used for the new website.  Bob Geckle seconded the motion.  All in attendance voted unanimously.

The final decision that needed to be made was the website screen.  The two options were fixed screen or flexible screen.  The Authority all agreed that a fixed screen was the best choice.

Adjournment:  Andy Willie made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Amy Dent seconded the motion.

The meeting adjourned at 6:28 p.m.
